New officers and members for the 2009 Board Professionals Leadership Group

A dedicated group of board professionals works together with AGB to promote professional development, communication, and research to support those who serve governing boards in this critical staff position. Their accomplishments include the annual Workshop for Board Professionals, Webinars for board professionals, and this newsletter, to name a few.

The Board Professionals Leadership Group recently selected new members, officers, and committee chairs for 2009. Leadership Group members serve three-year, staggered terms, while officers serve one-year terms. Committee chairs and members, who serve on the Executive, Marketing and Membership, Professional Development, and Program committees, serve one-year terms, as well. • Secretary, Leadership Group, Anne L. Shaw, associate secretary of The Regents, University of California;
• Past Chair, Leadership Group, Richard A. Mersereau, secretary of the college, Bowdoin College;
• Chair, Marketing and Membership Committee, Steven W. Frieder, assistant to the president, Marquette University;
• Chair, Professional Development Committee, Linda J. Dixon, secretary of the Corporation, Tufts University;
• Chair, Program Committee, Heather Fehn, board secretary, The College of New Jersey; and
• Vice Chair, Program Committee, Meredith Harper Bonham, executive assistant to the president, Hamilton College.
